Eddi Hot Water Shows Max temp Reached, but water is cold… Very frustrating case.
This is a common issue after the Winter season, when dual heating, such as Gas or oil, is used to heat the hot water in parallel to the Electric Immersion Heater.
The immersion heater is usually set to 50 degrees as a cut-off temperature, while the Gas boiler/oil boiler, due to the pipe’s length, istypically set to 60-70 degrees.
When the Gas / Oil boiler heats the water in the winter months, it usually reaches the hot water tank at a temperature higher than 50 degrees Celsius, which triggers the Electric Immersion to close as a safety mechanism.
As a homeowner or user of the dual heating system, your role in troubleshooting is crucial.
What can you do in this case?
Resetting the Electric Immersion Thermostat is a straightforward process that you can easily handle.
Then, you can adjust the Electric Immersion Thermostat to 50 degrees or dial down the Gas / Oil Boiler Thermostat from 60 Celsius to 50 Celsius to prevent this from happening again next year.
You will likely turn up the Electric Immersion from 50 Celsius to 60 Celsius, as hotter water in the summer is a more minor problem than colder radiators in the winter.

If your Thermostat has this red Toggle switch and it popped out, push it inwards.

I still don’t have hot water; what to do next?
- Please turn off your Myenergi Eddi (complete a power cycle for it).
- Please turn it off for 10 seconds, then turn it ON permanently.
- Press the Boost button twice.
Then you need to call a plumber to swap the immersion thermostat or the element itself, as more than likely the Water Heater Element is broken.
(You can expect to change the Thermostat and/or the Element every 3-5 years due to wear and tear, depending on the water quality of your area).
